Boy scout update

A few months ago the boy scouts had a overnight taco dinner at the church. We invited all of our family and served them tacos. After we ate we went over to the pool house and wrestled around and then we watched the movie Indiana Jones. Then me and Max played games on our phones together. After that we ate snacks till midnight and then watched Harry Potter #3. After that we all went to sleep. The next morning We got up and ate breakfast which was breakfast burritos. In all it was very fun.

A few days after the taco overnight we had our first court of honer which is when we progress in ranks. It did not take very long and pretty soon we were tenderfoots!

A few weeks ago we went on an all day hike to hocking hills to pass of on an requirement. We got to see lots of stuff including Old Mans cave, Ceder falls and Upper and Lower falls. After we were done we went to see our dads who were on a trip to hocking hills and got to see their cottage. It was the best house I have ever seen and we got to play basketball and eat snacks! My friend Max said " We went from heaven to earth!".  It was very fun!

A few weeks after Hocking hills my uncle Aaron came to scouts and showed us all about shooting and he brought some of his guns and his crossbow and bow. We got to hold all of the guns and he showed us what kind of loading action they were. Some of the types of loading action are: the pump, the break barrel, the lever action and the semi-auto action. It was really cool seeing all those guns!

Today I am going on a camp out with the scouts. We are going to Woodland trails and pass of on a lot of requirements! Hopefully we will have good weather!

These are some pictures of the court of honer:
This all of the scouts from left to right: Mark our patrol leader, Max our scribe, Will our assistant patrol leader, Me (Caleb) our grub master and Sam our quartermaster.
This all of us at the court of honer. ( The one in the middle is James who used to be a scout.)

Santa Sophia

Santa Sophia is located in modern day Istanbul (once know as Constantinople and before that, Byzantium). It was built for the first time in 573 by the christian roman emperor Justinian. When it was finished he boasted that his temple was better than King Solomon's. But then the Asians and the Turks attacked the city and captured it and everybody thought that the king would destroy the christian art and the alters. But fortunately he decided to spare the church and turn it into a mosque and it has been to this day forth.

St Basil's Cathedral

St Basil's is a cathedral that is in Moscow the capital of Russia. It is located outside of the Kremlin. It was built by Ivan the Terrible. When Napoleon invaded Moscow in 1812 he marveled at the beauty of the cathedral and he wished that the architect who had built it would come and build something like the it in Paris. The cathedral is made up of lots of small rooms rather than one big room. It is on one side of the Red square.
